Build the coolest spaceships, rockets, robots, launchers and astronauts!
LEGO® and Planetarium have created an adventurous workshop with all kinds of LEGO® – designed for space travel and space technology.
You are welcome to drop in and leave the workshop at any time during the workshop's opening hours. No advance booking or reservations are required.
At the Planet Workshop, you can let your imagination run wild and create your very own planet! Using Styrofoam balls as a starting point, we build exciting worlds where the only limit is your imagination.
You can colour your planet with markers, decorate it with stones, glitter, and other fun materials, add clouds around it, or perhaps give it one or more moons.
The Planet Workshop is a creative activity for both children and adults, where art, play, and astronomy come together in a fun and educational experience.
You are welcome to drop in and leave the workshop at any time during the workshop's opening hours. No advance booking or reservations are required.
What is it that makes Earth so special?
In the science show Earth if calling, we take you on a fascinating journey through 4.5 billion years of history, exploring the many features that make Earth unique.
Along the way, we investigate some of the natural forces and processes that have shaped our planet and discover why Earth is such a special place in the universe. Through exciting experiments, audience participation, and engaging visual experiences, science comes to life for children and adults alike.
An entertaining and educational science show for curious families and children aged 5 and up.
No advance booking or reservation.
What does your dream planet look like? Before the show, you can design your very own planet by filling out a special planet-design sheet, available in the shop or at the information desk in the Staircase Gallery. Give your planet a name, decide what it is made of, and choose its colour.
Bring your completed design into the Planetarium Dome and hand it to the presenter before the show begins. During the activity, a selection of the submitted planets will be brought to life on the giant dome screen for everyone to experience.
Will your planet be chosen? There’s only one way to find out! Join us for a unique and interactive experience where your imagination becomes part of the show.
No advance booking or reservation.
In Outer Space at Street Level, our guides step outside Planetarium to bring space closer than ever. Get creative with chalk and draw your own interpretation of Earth on the plaza, from continents and oceans to the life that exists on our planet.
You'll also have the opportunity to observe the Sun safely through Planetarium's solar telescopes (weather permitting) and enjoy a rare close-up view of our nearest star, whose energy makes life on Earth possible.
If the weather isn't suitable for outdoor activities, we offer guided tours in Planetarium's exhibitions instead. Join one of our guides on a journey through the universe, from the Big Bang and the birth of stars to space exploration and the search for life beyond Earth. The tour offers an engaging introduction to some of the biggest questions about the universe and our place within it.
The guided tour lasts approximately 30 minutes, and curious children are very welcome. Each tour has a capacity for up to 30 participants. No registration is required.
A limited number of tours are offered in English, while most are conducted in Danish. Please see the daily programme, available on arrival at Planetarium.
Planetarium's award-winning exhibition Cosmos explores one of life's biggest questions: Where do we come from?
Discover the recipe for life by tracing its cosmic ingredients, from the Big Bang and stars to black holes.
Everything you are comes from the universe.
The building blocks of your body, its atoms, originated in space. On a journey through the cosmos, you'll discover exactly where the different chemical elements were created.
The hydrogen in the water inside your cells was formed at the very beginning of everything - in the Big Bang. Life is built on DNA, which contains carbon, an element forged inside stars. Throughout the universe, stars act as vast element factories, producing many of the chemical elements that make up our world, including the iron in your blood. Zinc, which is essential for your immune system, was created in the powerful explosions of massive stars known as supernovae.
To Space and Back is a thought-provoking exhibition about humanity's profound relationship with space, and with Earth.
Throughout history, human curiosity has driven us towards new horizons, from the first great ocean explorers to today's astronauts orbiting Earth. We have the ability to think boldly, collaborate, build knowledge, and pass it on to future generations. We learn from the past while imagining the future.
With To Space and Back, we invite you to challenge your perspective and open your mind to the possibilities of humanity's future in space. At the same time, we hope to deepen your understanding of both the world around us and what it means to be human.
To Space and Back is structured around four main themes:
Experience a groundbreaking fusion of art, science, and technology as internationally acclaimed artist Tomás Saraceno presents COSMIC THREADS at Planetarium.
The installation marks Saraceno's first permanent artwork in Denmark and his first-ever collaboration with a planetarium anywhere in the world. Located in Planetarium's Staircase Gallery, it combines aesthetics and technology in a unique experience designed to inspire curiosity and reflection.
Renowned for his spectacular large-scale works, Tomás Saraceno has created this complex mega installation exclusively for Planetarium. With COSMIC THREADS, he invites visitors to reflect on the mysteries of the universe and humanity's responsibility for the future of our shared planet.
Spanning the Staircase Gallery's full height of 25 metres (82 feet) and its entire 42 metres (138-foot) length, the installation captures light within an intricate web of threads. Planets and pockets of air appear to float like galaxies, creating a striking visual metaphor for the interconnectedness of cosmic and earthly structures.
