A spectacular light show dances across the night sky.
Fighting dragons? Warriors guarding Valhalla? Your ancestors watching from above?
The northern lights have many names – and even more stories.
On selected Sundays, we invite families to a magical experience where we explore the wonders and legends of the aurora together.
Inside the Planetarium dome, you’ll set off on an aurora adventure sure to spark your imagination. Under the dome, there are no limits to where we can go – and you help choose the destination!
We’ll travel around the globe to uncover the myths and tales people have used to explain the northern lights – from Chinese dragons to Nordic Vikings and Arctic spirits, all the way to the science we understand today.
Then we launch into space, heading toward the blazing Sun to discover where the northern lights truly begin.
Back on Earth, we’ll explore how the magnetic field and atmosphere work together to light up the sky in dazzling colors.
But before our adventure ends, we’ll make a quick stop at one of the other planets in the Solar System – could we find auroras out there too? Let’s find out!
Join us on an unforgettable journey for the whole family and help us explore the aurora, both here on Earth and far out in space.
After the show, we’ll screen the award-winning film Áróra – a visually stunning experience that tells the story of how the northern lights are formed.
