Experience the magic of the Planetarium’s iconic dome, where we combine cutting-edge technology with nature’s own masterpieces to give you an unforgettable evening.
In this visual lecture, award-winning astrophotographer Jakob A. Andersen presents his enchanting images of the night sky – photographs that have captivated millions of stargazers around the world. This evening, their full grandeur can be experienced as they are displayed on Europe’s largest tilted dome screen.
Jakob A. Andersen’s camera has captured moments such as the ISS gliding precisely across the Sun’s glowing surface, and the majestic Orion Nebula shining like a jewel in the winter night sky. With exceptional patience and technical mastery, he brings us closer to the stars than most will ever come. His images reveal a world of colours and details our eyes rarely perceive – from the violet haze of the Pleiades star cluster to the swirling ribbons of gas in the Rosette Nebula.
In addition, the Planetarium’s astrophysicist will take us on a fascinating journey through space and among the stars on the impressive dome screen – to the very same celestial objects immortalized by Jakob A. Andersen. Along the way, we’ll gain astrophysical insights drawn from the world’s largest telescopes.
This event is not only a visual feast – it is an opportunity to come closer to the big questions of where we come from and what awaits us out there.
The lecture is aimed at both curious amateur astronomers and anyone who loves diving into the interplay between science and art.
