We are seeing ever farther out into the universe. Past stars, nebulae, and distant galaxies - all the way back to the faint afterglow of the Big Bang. Or whatever it was that set everything in motion nearly 14 billion years ago.
But what does the universe look like if we turn our gaze in the opposite direction? If instead of pointing the telescope toward the sky, we let the microscope guide us inward - into the matter around us? What is hidden within the universe’s very smallest structures? And how far can we actually go before our understanding runs out?
For this special event, Holger Bech Nielsen, professor emeritus and one of Denmark’s most prominent theoretical high-energy physicists, joins author and journalist Jonas Kuld Rathje on stage in the Planetarium’s iconic Planetarium Dome. Through conversation, storytelling, and big questions, they take the audience on a journey from the outermost boundaries of the universe to the smallest things we can possibly describe.
The duo is known from the lecture successes “Teorien om alt,” “Teorien om Ingenting,” and “Teorien om alt og ingenting” at the Planetarium - based on their popular books of the same titles.
This new special event further develops the concept and opens up new perspectives. Created uniquely for the Planetarium Dome, the event is accompanied by a visually immersive journey that turns the passage from the edge of the universe to the interior of matter into an experience that is not only explained - but felt.
