Guided tour in the exhibition To Space and Back

Step into the reality and future of space exploration in Planetarium’s exhibition To Space and Back. On this guided tour, we take you from the everyday life of astronauts aboard the International Space Station to the big questions of why we explore space at all – and what it means for us here on Earth.

Along the way, we dive into installations that highlight everything from Andreas Mogensen’s unique thunderstorm experiments to the advanced spacesuits that function as small, self-contained spacecraft. You will discover how technologies developed for space – so-called spin-offs – have become part of our daily lives, and how satellites provide us with new insights into climate, communication and the state of our planet.

We also invite you to experience The Overview Effect installation – the sensation of seeing Earth from afar as a small, blue and fragile planet – and to reflect on the dilemmas that accompany space exploration: increasing amounts of space debris, the rise of mega-constellations of satellites, and the lack of clear international regulations in space.

To Space and Back connects the concrete with the philosophical, the technological with the human – offering an insight into how space exploration shapes both our everyday lives and our future.
